We finally got rid of the yellow! Now my family room and kitchen do not remind me of a hot dog stand. Eric and I painted the family room a nice taupe color.
The other night Seth and I went to get something from Cara's house and Eric was doing dishes. Luke wanted to be held so Eric had him the backpack. Eric was amazed at how much Luke liked being in there. I had to take a picture or two because it sort of cracked me up. I don't know why.
Today is Luke's first birthday. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by since that beautiful baby boy blessed our lives. It seems as though he has been with us forever. As I look back at this year of firsts I am amazed. He took his first steps one day before he was eleven months old and he has been walking everywhere for about two weeks now. He got his first teeth at 4 1/2 months. And he crawled at 7 months. I love him so much and he has enriched my life tremendously. A whole year with such a wonderful baby boy. I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. I admit, I was in denial that I was in labor, but still. What a day that was. He and his cousin Cora were born on the same day one hour apart. I really thought he was going to be born first, but he wasn't. My cousin had a scheduled cesarean for 1:00 pm and Cora was born at 1:06 pm and Luke was born at 2:06 pm and weighed 9lbs 11 oz. He was my moose. Happy Birthday baby boy.
On our way to Parkside to get Luke's hair cut for the first time.

Success . . . now I have my mama!
Another attempt at escaping.
This is a cool comb!
What are you doing? I know I'm cute.
More cutting. He has a lot of hair.
A new little man!
I took Luke to get his first real haircut today. It was time, yet it was a little sad. Aunt was supposed to go with me to be my photographer, but since the boys have had a little cold she did not come. I do not blame her though, because I would not want to get sick either. Anyway, I took a couple of pictures but then I had to have Luke sit on my lap in order to complete the haircut. And now that Seth is an experienced photographer I handed him the camera. He got some good shots. He was also a big helper keeping Luke happy while he was getting his hair cut. Luke was so cute because Lee squirted water into his mouth from the water bottle and then he kept needing drinks as Seth likes to call it. Eventually, Luke just kept the water bottle and a comb. He was happy and was not too squirmy. I think it was a good experience for him. I cannot believe how much a simple haircut can change a little baby into a little boy. He is so cute!
A couple of days ago Seth found my Taboo game. He took out all the cards, the timer, the buzzer, the pens and score cards. He drew on the score cards and then he told me they were invitations to play the game with him. I thought it was funny, but then he does something even funnier. He told me he was inviting "Aunt, my Calvin, Chris and Sean" to play the game and he took the score cards out to the mail box and put the flag up so the mail man could deliver them. It was so cute. (Chris and Sean are Daddy's friends that Seth just loves)
I can drink out of a sippy cup, but mostly I am too lazy and everyone will do it for me. I have them all trained!
I am mad. Where is my juice?
My cool new shirt!
I love my mommy.
Luke has a new shirt from Uncle Billy in Germany. I thought he might like to see him in it via the blog since he has not come to visit us in Eureka (and it is easier for one of you to come to Eureka than four of us to come to Germany . . . although we will someday). There is also a video of Luke walking. Luke will be a year old next Saturday. I don't know where the time has gone. We are watching the super bowl today and I was thinking that this time last year I was huge pregnant. I am glad that I am not pregnant now! I think that is it for now.
