The last post of 2008

We want to wish all our family and friends a very happy new year. I pray God's blessing on each one of you. I hope your new year is filled with happiness and God's love. I am lucky to have all of you in my life, especially my main men: Eric, Seth and Luke. Here are some pictures of me kissing each of them! I love them all so much. Happy 2009!

New Year's Eve In

We have had a wonderful 2008. Eric, Seth and I were blessed with our new little baby, Luke in February. It has been such a blessing to be a mommy of two special little boys. I thank God each day for them. 2009 shall bring more excitement and challenges that I look forward to. Here are some things we were doing on new year's eve. Luke was playing with his remote--still the favorite Christmas gift--Seth was shaking his booty and the boys were just playing. I enjoy watching them play together.

Seth with his ice

all better

Last night Seth was running around being a crazy man and he bonked his head on our pull down table that hides in the couch. He hit his head pretty hard, right near his eye. I thought for sure he was going to have a shiner, but fortunately he does not. We did put ice on it right away. Here are some pictures of him sitting on my lap so he could feel better. I love no matter how tough he thinks he is, he still needs mommy to fix it when he's hurt. We'll see how long that lasts.

I didn't know babies liked asparagus, but Luke does. He stole it off of daddy's plate!

Luke's First Christmas

Luke had so much fun with the wrapping paper and boxes. It was so cute to watch him with all that stuff he could tear up. He was into everything including his brother's presents. I love how babies sit in boxes and have so much fun without a gift at all. Luke did get the best gift ever though: his own remote control. Pops wrapped up an old remote for him. He did not put that thing down. He crawled all over with it and it is still his favorite new toy. First Christmas' are so special.

Christmas Cookies

This year Seth decided that he wanted to bake cookies for the neighbors. So I made sugar cookies, peanut butter balls, fudge and zucchini bread for goody plates. Anyway, Emmit came over to help with the sugar cookie decorating. The cookie recipe I used was terrible. The cookies did not hold their shape, but the boys had fun icing them anyway. The cookies turned out ok and they tasted good so I thought I could give them away . . . it was cute because one could tell they were decorated by 3 year olds. Well, on Sunday while we were at church my dog got into the cookies and ate them all. That solved my dilemma, but I was irritated because now I had to bake more cookies. I used a different recipe and Seth and I decorated them and they turned out so much better. Seth was disappointed though because Emmit had gone home to Elk Grove and could not help us. It was sad.

Seth's Christmas program at church

My little angel

Are we almost finished?

What is going on?

Why am I not by Calvin?

Seth was in a little Christmas program at church last Sunday. He was not too thrilled about it because of where he was standing. He told me before we went to church that he wanted to stand "next to my Calvin and Alexandra or I will not be happy." As you can tell from the pictures he was not. He was so funny because when he saw Grandpa Odie he yelled "Grandpa, Grandpa!" Then he saw Debbie and announced to the whole church "Hey, hey Grandmother is here!" Then while they were singing he spotted my dad and yells above all of the other singing children "Pops, hey Pops, can I ride in your truck to breakfast at Hometown?" It was too funny and a little embarrassing at the same time, but what can you do. He is so cute and has such a mind of his own.

Pops' Birthday

We had Pop's birthday party at our house this year. Seth was so excited to have the family over.

The best nephew ever!

Emmit is the sweetest nephew any auntie could ask for. On December 20 Emmit came over to help with the Christmas cookies that Seth and I were baking for the neighbors. It also happened to be the day of our daughter's birth and I was feeling sort of sad. When Emmit came to the door he had flowers for me. (I just love him so much) Joy told me that he had picked them out and said that he wanted to get yellow and they had to be carnations because "they are Auntie Taunya's favorite." I thought it was so sweet that he remembered my favorite flower. I had told him that while we were on a walk in Elk Grove back in September. This is a picture of the flowers he got for me.

Seth visited the dentist!

Showing off his clean teeth

Seth's pretty teeth

Seth visited the dentist today. He did so well. Meg, the hygienist, said his teeth look awesome and he has no cavities. Yesss! Meg showed Seth how the instruments worked and he was not scared at all. This was the first time he had the dental instruments for his cleaning. I was so proud of him. The fluoride did make him throw up though. Poor baby! It was reminiscent of my own childhood dental visits. Seth got to pick two prizes out of the prize box because he was so good. He said he will go back in June for his next six month check up. I am glad that he is not afraid to go back since he puked. On to another cute thing Seth said today. He told me that Grandpa Willie needed to shower after he got back from Willie Creek (which should be Willow Creek). I thought it was funny and sweet. He is such a nut sometimes.

Christmas Season 2008

Here are some pictures of what our family has been doing this Christmas season. It is just a random assortment of pictures. Seth has been full of so much wonder. Christmas seems so magical for him this year. It is really neat to watch him. He has had so much fun decorating and wrapping presents. He is in charge of putting the tags on the gifts and he thinks it is the best job ever. Seth has also helped all the family put up their decorations too. He even tried to charge Great-Grandpa $100 for helping. What can I say he is a funny kid. The great grandparents came over the night we put up our tree and played with the kids. They all had such a great time and Great-Grandma even learned how to use my digital camera! We actually have lights on our house this year that Eric put up. Seth thinks they are great!
