September 2009

September began the soccer season. This was Seth's first year playing soccer. He did really well playing considering I know nothing about soccer. He had wonderful coaches and great teammates. The kids all had such a great time. My favorite soccer season moment was when the crowd looked up at one of the games and we all saw four naked butts lined up at the fence because they had to pee. And yes, my child was one of them. Do you think any of the parents had a camera? No. How terrible is that.

August 2009

August was a fun month for us. Cara and I went on our first annual girls trip to L.A. to visit our family there. We stayed with Chrys. We went shopping and ate good food. We had a blast. We got home from our girls trip on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning I took Seth and Luke on our second annual one week trip to Auntie Joy's in Elk Grove. It was a little bit stupid and a little bit brave. I took two small children on a six hour road trip by myself. It went really well. We only had one incident on the way down: Luke threw up on the 20 (which is a highway for those of you who do not know). While on this trip I found out I was four weeks pregnant! Joy and I were suspicious of the pregnancy so we left all the boys with Aaron (they were all sleeping) and went to the store for a pregnancy test. It was very exciting to see the digital read out say PREGNANT! Seth, Emmit, Liam and Luke had so much fun together. We can't wait for our next visit! Luke did not like the pool even tho it was 1,000 degrees outside! Silly boy. Some highlights from our trip: swimming, the bounce house and the train museum!

More July outings

July was a busy month for us. One of my favorite outings was when we took Seth and Luke to Agate. Luke was in heaven with all the rocks to play with and sea gulls to chase. I found a few small agates and Eric found the most. I always want to find more than him, but he always wins our unspoken challenge! Darn it. We also showed the boys the Yurok houses. I don't think they were impressed, but I was still amazed like I am each time I see them. Eric also started taking Seth to the driving range at the Muni. They have a great time together. So many fun things to do.

July 2009

So July was our annual Relay for Life followed by Benbow camping trip. The boys had a lot of fun. Cousin Nick went camping with us and that is always a bonus for my boys. We had a lot of fun. Relay is a great event and Seth loved running laps with his cousins! July also took us to Fern Canyon for the first time with the boys. They loved it. We had a lot of fun. The pictures of the box is the box house I made for the boys. The funniest part about the house was when Cousin Nick and Jarrot (a.k.a. Jarrod) tried to get into the box house. And we cannot forget about Daddy's birthday in July. The boys had a great time with all the family!

Where have I been?

z
So it has been over a year since I have blogged. It is sad in the sense that I have not updated everyone on the happenings around the Brunton household. Since last May we have been very busy. I will try to give a brief synopsis of the past year month by month. I will begin with last June. Eric and I took the boys to Disneyland for the first time. They had a blast. My dad came with us and we all spent 6 days in L.A. visiting family. It was a lot of fun. The boys were so good on our trip. We got stuck at the airport on the evening of our flight because the plane was grounded. We had to go back the next morning for a 6 a.m. flight that was also late because the replacement plane had been struck by lightning. Above are some pictures from our trip.

Seth's Conversation with Daddy!

Tonight Seth was watching Bizarre Foods with Daddy. The host of the show is bald and Seth asked why he had no hair. Daddy told him that sometimes when people get older they lose their hair. Then Seth said "So Dad, when you're 40 you're gonna lose your hair!" I was giving Luke a bath and I heard Eric laughing really hard. So of course I had to ask what happened. Living with children is awesome!

Emmit and the dressing room!

Last week Eric and I went to Elk Grove without our boys. Seth and Luke stayed with Grandmother and Grandpa Odie (as Seth calls them) for two nights. It was our first trip away from Luke. Eric had a work training to go to in Sacramento so off we went. While Eric was at his training I hung out with Joy and my adorable nephews. Liam was napping and Emmit and I went to Kohl's. There was a skirt I wanted and he was the best shopping partner. Emmit and I went into the dressing room so I could try on the skirt. Mind you the dressing room was full and we had a grand conversation. I took off my pants in order to try on the skirt and Emmit announces to everyone "Auntie those are really cool undies!!!" I have to tell you all they were not that cool . . . blue, pink and green geometric shapes on hipster underwear. It was very amusing. I love that kid!
