Seth the pastry chef!

This year for Thanksgiving Grammie asked me if I would make the pies. I agreed to make two pumpkin pies and two chocolate pies. I thought it would be fun to have Seth help me with the pies. We put on our aprons and started making a huge mess. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with him making the pies. He only helped with the pumpkin pies. Luke was napping while we were creating. The first pie crust we rolled out fell apart so we ended up re-rolling it after adding a little milk to the dough. They did turn out well though and tasted good!

Luke and the Lemon!

Last night I decided we should let Luke try a lemon. It was hilarious. At first he didn't like it and made the pucker face, but then he wanted to eat it. Luke is also clapping his hands now. It is so cute.

More Seth Sayings

Tonight when we were saying nighttime prayers and sweet dreams (something he adopted from Auntie Joy) he told me that his sweet dreams would be about "Aunt and Mom." I asked what we were going to do in his sweet dreams and he told me "Me and Aunt are going to play cars and me and mom are going to do dishes!" I thought it was hilarious . . . I can't get away from doing dishes even in Seth's sweet dreams.

Seth the Song Writer

Today we had to pick up Aunt from the auto glass place. Seth, Luke and I were sitting in the car waiting for Aunt to finish when Luke started crying. I was holding Heinze (Aunt's dog) so I didn't turn around to try to give Luke his binky. Then I hear this sweet little voice singing "Don't cry little baby/Don't cry little baby ever again/If you do just put your binky in your mouth and go to sleep when you are tired/If you don't we will come get you/Don't cry little baby." It was the most precious little song I have ever heard. And, Luke did stop crying!

Kissing the baby

Did you have to do that to my hair?

Look Aunt, just for you!

I'm gonna get you!

I see you.

Sweet baby kisses!

Can we play?

Check this out Luke

Seth and Luke took a bath together this morning. They had fun playing together. After I got Luke out of the tub he was sitting on the counter. He looked at himself in the mirror. He was touching the "other"baby and kissing the baby. It was so cute. I also put his hair in a mohawk just for Auntie. She always did stuff like that to Seth when he was little and I coulnd't resist.

Seth the laundry helper!

So determined

Look Mom!

Hmmm . . .
I am doing a good job.

I can fold this.

Seth loves to help me do the laundry. He likes to fold the kitchen towels. He is oh, so helpful. He actually does a pretty good job and it brings him such pleasure that I cannot say no.

Seth sayings and Luke pictures

This is Luke's mad face

Up to no good

So innocent

Luke checking out Seth when he had fallen asleep on the couch

Yesterday we were driving home from Target and Seth said to me "Mo-om, I need to have a date with you!" I love that he wants to spend time with just me. I feel so special. He is such a sweet boy. So today we are going to Applebee's for lunch at his request. He said we need to share chicken nuggets and french fries.

He has been saying some other funny things lately too. The other night while he was in the tub I told him he was my favorite guy. He responded with "Do you know who my favorite girl is?" I asked who and he said "you, mom!" Then he asked "Do you know who my most favorite girl is? It's Gramma in heaven; she is so nice." The next thing he said cracked me up, "Do you know who my best girl is?" and before I could say anything he shouted "AUNT" which is what he calls Cara. Of course I had to call Aunt right away and tell her that she is his best girl. Where do they come up with these things?

Luke is babbling a lot now too. He is in a dada phase right now. Eric thinks it is great. I can't believe how big he is getting.

Seth said the sweetest thing!

This morning Seth came into our room and climbed in bed with me. We were laying there playing his favorite game (he says "you're a smoke detector" and I say "you are a curtain" and it goes on listing any object we see). Anyway, he then put his little arms around my neck and said "I am going to keep you, Mom. Forever." I just love him so much. What a blessing from God!

Luke is 9 months old!

Moving in the walker.

Luke in his walker.

Hi mom!

Standing by the coffee table.

My little button.

I just liked this picture.

I see my daddy!

I am too cute!

Where does the time go? I cannot believe my baby is already 9 months. He is getting so big and so active. I got down Seth's old walker for him and he finally figured out how to go forward in it today. He is starting to say "dada" but it is funny because he only whispers it. Too cute!

Well, it happened tonight: Seth said "I don't like you, Mom!" He was angry at me because I told him not to put his feet on our coffee table. He has been putting his feet on the table and his hands on the couch and balancing himself. He sees it as fun; I see a disaster in the making. He proceeded to tell me that I am not nice. I was wondering when this day was coming. However, I did not expect it to be when he is 3 1/2 years old. I did think it was funny and when he told me he did not like me I told him that was OK because I love him. My mom used to say that when I would say I did not like her. It really annoyed me and now I find myself using some of her tactics. She would be so proud and laughing at me at the same time. I can just hear her saying "I told you this day would come." How I miss her! Anyway, I took some video clips of Seth tonight. He was reciting his Benson's Buddies pledge and motto. Benson's Buddies is his class that he goes to on Wednesday nights at the church. He got moved into the older class this year and is doing very well. I am so proud of him. It just melts my heart to hear him saying verses out of the Bible. It is so cute, too, because he has motions to go with Proverbs 3:5 thanks to his teacher, Amy. She is awesome (and also the mother of Seth's girlfriend . . . his words not mine). I am also posting a picture that Seth took of Luke and me and his other photos as well. He is becoming quite the photographer. He has taken several great pictures of his daddy, Luke and me and a pretty cool one of our dog, Maggie. He also likes to photograph his toys and other weird things. What can I say except he is a boy!
